I really really love being outside (when it’s not cold). Living where I do, camping is as normal as going to the grocery store. Since it’s cold I haven’t got a chance to really camp but I know that in the spring I am going to camp my butt off! One of the biggest things to always have is a flashlight! LA Police Gear has some great Surefire Flashlights. Ok ok, I know, police gear? what? what’s surefire? Well, I can honestly attest that when camping you want to have the best quality flashlight. I am particularly interested in the surefire LED flashlight because LED lights are the best quality you can get for a flashlight and last a really long time. Not to mention surefire flashlights are incredibly durable and really perfect for those who might need it in an emergency whether you are camping or just really need a light. I know that when I go camping, I go to completely secluded spots, where it’s pitch dark. I get paranoid in the dark and my flashlight practically is attached to my hand. I need to be able to see what is out there and have a reliable flashlight. Since surefire flashlights are made to standard for military, police, and emergency crews and as well as outdoors people, I really have faith that using surefire flashlights will keep me sane while camping or doing any other night outdoor activity. Not only that, I know having a flashlight in your car or your home for emergencies is a must. I want to be able to have a dependable flashlight should I really need it, especially if my life and others depended on it. Also having rechargeable flashlights, something Surefire offers, sounds awesome, so I don’t have to carry out huge batteries all the time or make sure I have them (which I never do). Also if you are a serious outdoors man/woman, they offer heavy duty flashlights that are military grade should you need it! Honestly, I really will consider buying a heavy duty flashlight, because one day my life might depend on it!
This week progressed rather slow for my tastes. I am truly excited for next week because it’s Thanksgiving and BLACK FRIDAY! w00t! Then a week and a half later it’s my 22nd Birthday. Gawd. Now I know, I’m not getting old but I’m getting older and it frightens me! Not frighten in oh I’m afraid to grow up, but frighten like…holy crap wasn’t I 18 just yesterday? My little sister’s birthday is before mine, so it really makes me feel old. She’ll be 17. Sheesh! I remember that age! I was a little devil with Marcus around … heehee
Here’s a quote that is well needed today!
Everyone born in the world has a unique role that only he or she can fulfill. Were this not the case, we would not be here. The universe never acts without cause, everything invariably has a reason for being. Even the weeds people love to loathe serve a purpose………..Do you know your Purpose? Are you Living your Purpose?
This is sooo true! Honestly, I think it goes down deeper. If my purpose on earth was to make Marcus happy and feel overwhelmingly loved, then so be it. I won’t take for granted me because someone or something needs me! And from a biologist standpoint…this hits home too! Even little creepy bugs have a purpose or they wouldn’t be here! Lovely! Then again, there are some body organs that don’t serve a really big purpose but will kill you if they dysfunction…that’s…cruel..someone had fun doing that. lol
But anyways, I’ve been working on my crocheting. For some reason, I am not as confident about it as I was when I started. I’ve been starting a chain and then adding a second row, and the first two rows will look like crap. I don’t know if it’s my tension or what, but it’s frustrating! Any pointers? I’ll try to post pictures to show ya’ll what I mean. It’s … arrgh! And then knitting…well I got the hang out of it, and the theory I got down, but it’s actually doing…it looks so sloppy! So I keep having to restart over and over again. But it’s okay I guess, as I am still learning and afterall, youtube was my instructor! Speaking of which, has anyone used expertvillage.com? I went there because someone suggested I look at bellydancing videos and I looked around and it looked pretty nifty. Like a specific helping video collection without all the weird ones thrown in the mix. idn. Check it out! (don’t worry not a sponsored link hehe)
Well this weekend oughta be fun. I’m going to a retreat and should have fun getting out of the house and taking a break from “home”. I love Marcus dearly but sometimes I need to get away! But I will miss my dogs
haha that’s sad! But they are my babies …..
Hmm, I haven’t put a recipe up lately…I think I will on Sunday! Maybe a few! Thai ones? hmm hmm?
and I R Loser.
Not much exciting as transpired since Monday. Except that my back is being a bitch and making me whine like one. Though it got better today, but it comes in and out often.
I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that I, indeed, am a Black Friday shopper. It started my freshman year of college and my mom, grandma, me and my sisters went out dark and early and shopped like we’d never shopped before. It was awesome, so since then, Black Friday has been something I have looked forward to. Surprisingly, Black Friday also is a time when I actually buy gifts for other people *gasp* but this year, I’m buying shit for me! I went to blackfriday.info and they have early heads up for the super sales that will go on. I am for one, quite excited to go to Best Buy and buy this awesomely amazing laptop for $379.99. Marcus and I decided that it will be a treat for the both of us, since my trusty ole’ laptop I’ve had for two years finally died on me. POS! But never fear. I’ll have a sweet little laptop soon enough! And then I plan to buy Marcus stuff, but i won’t mention them here
So, surprisingly, I have lost weight after not really trying. Um.. WHAT. I honestly think it’s a fluke and that my scale hates me. But regardless, that’s 20 pounds so far. sheesh. Well, I doubt I’ll make my goal by Jan. 1 but Let’s see how far I can get! w00t!
Eh, I lost my energy to post anymore.
Can I just say, that I might be jinxing everyone, but I am so happy gas prices have fallen. I filled up my tank today with $23.83. I am thrilled considering a month and half ago it took almost 40 bucks to fill it. Yay for having low gas prices and a really awesome mpg. =D
This weekend was uneventful. We spent most of it preparing for our move this coming December 1 (wow we’re crazy….) and I am quite excited. We’ll still have cash for Black Friday and be able to move and I’ll get paid that Friday after we do move. It’ll be awesoooooooooooooooooooooome. I’m so excited. I really can’t wait to buy all our new furniture and stuff too!
Well, I am going to go a la list tonight and put down my “to-do” list for this week.
- Finish my Graduate Assistantship application. Since I am not going to have a job come December 28, I really need to figure out how I am going to make some extra income. I’ve got my tutoring but I can only do so much of that (according to their policies) so I need some sort of extra money coming in. I really don’t want to invest in a job that expects me to be there for a long time, because I plan on doing a lot of things that will make me be at the job for 9-12 months tops. I hate leaving jobs though. I like to commit to a job if I have a choice or say in it.
- Finish my application for “top secret” sorority business. HAHA I just had to say it. No, I am applying for national position in my sorority’s national hq and I really need to get on my application for it because I really want to be considered for this next term. Other than that, I really want to be able to be focused on something else besides school and Marcus
j.k about the Marcus thing. - Get my things together for moving. I really need to make sure I get everything in order so the move can be as smooth as possible. It’ll be nice to not stress about this move, because I really need to not be stressed out right now, since I am doing very well so far
Well that’s all for this week so far. I might think of more, but these are really big main ones I want to focus on for this week.
Ta-Ta
