The Shoe Fits

It's just something about snug fitting shoes…

My New Year

So, I have had a lot of time to think about my new year resolutions. I didn’t want to plan any that were generic or cliche. I really want to strive to be a better person, for me and for Marcus and my future children. So here they are!

1. Be more outgoing. Okay, this is definitely a new one for me. I am not aiming to become Ms. Party Animal/Social butterfly, but I hardly leave the house unless I have to and usually don’t hang out with people unless they really lay it on thick. My goal is to at least go out occassionally, do some social interactions and hang out with people more.

2. Be healthy. So here is my way of cheating, sort of. I want to be healthy and that definitely includes losing weight. But it also includes cutting out bad cholesterol, bad fats, and sugars. I really want to minimize my risk for some diseases like diabetes and heart disease as they run in my family bigtime. I also want to cut out as much caffiene as I can and processed foods.

3. Volunteer More. I really enjoyed doing community service with my sorority and I don’t want it to end just because I am not an undergraduate anymore. I hope I can do community service more related to my interests and goals.

4. Learn a new Skill. My goal is to learn the piano, but I can settle for anything else, like learning to drive a manual!

These are my big ones for this year, of course I still have my larger goal list but these are my short term goals that will hopefully fulfill the bigger ones!

We Cheated

So Marcus and I lack self control. There it was, lingering in our faces and we couldn’t resist the urge…

….TO OPEN OUR CHRISTMAS PRESENTS THREE DAYS EARLY.

Yeah, we fail, but whatever! We started by just opening one, and then one turned into two and then all of them. I am actually pleasantly surprised by Marcus’ choices for me. He bought me a matching set of robe, slippers, socks, eye mask from Bath and Body Works and they are soooooo soft. I almost died. Then he got me an awesome backpack. I wanted a backpack that I could stuff my things in for my trip to Boston. It has a bajillion pockets, a spot for my laptop, its roomy, comfortable to wear and is just.awesome. He also got me a clock radio for my iPod. I really enjoy that darned thing. Though I think it’s a bit too high tech for me because I spent like 30 minutes trying to figure out how to set the damn time. He also got me Call of Duty 4 which is my favorite franchise.EVER! So I think he did pretty well for me :)

So what did I get him? I know I mentioned on here and on Twitter that I got him the most awesomeness of gifts, and I was so right :) I got him a sword from the Anime Bleach. It’s owned by a character called Hitsugaya Toushiro. He ADORES it. He was so shocked and speechless. He really appreciate that I got this sword for him. Yeaaah he owes me :) I also got him some wii stuff, clothes (mostly winter clothes) and some books. We did good this year :)

So remember some time back I said I needed to develop some hobbies offline? Well, I decided that I want to get serious about playing the guitar and piano. I might have had a less than embarrassing motivator but I honestly had this pint up inside me for awhile. I really want to learn both instruments. I don’t think, nor do I wish to “go anywhere” with it, but it’s always fun to have a few talents, not to mention, if I do become “good” I might perform for fun :) or post them on youtube…LMAO!

My other hobbies, crocheting and knitting, are still there. I am working on a scarf, which omg is taking forever. I never thought it wouldn’t take a long time, but geez! My poor wittle fingers are so sore! and I only have 6 rows. But I haven’t picked up the knitting needles again yet because last time I got so frustrated I vowed to not touch them again until I could concentrate just on knitting, But it’s still fun and I still enjoy it,

This was a decently long post. ^_^

Shh..I’m Huntin’ Wabbit

Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t hunt, but I would love to! I am all for conservation and for those who don’t know, hunting is one of the most effective ways of conservation efforts. For instance, here in AZ, we have a huge Elk problem. They eat all the food available to both them and pronghorn deer and other animals, and like to become hit and run victims late at night or early in the morning. Since we have no wolves in AZ anymore, humans have to act at the “natural” balance, because if there were wolves, there would be no need to hunt so much.

BUT! That’s not the purpose of my post (cause I could go on all day) but I came across this Nikon BDC Slam Hunter’s Package that includes all the cool stuff like ProStaff 3-9×40 Riflescope with BDC Reticle, ProStaff Laser Rangefinder, Silent Technology Rangefinder Case, Mastering a Long-range shot with BDC DVD AND a $50 NikonProGear Gift Car.

That’s a pretty great deal! Especially if you are one who likes to hunt or have a loved one who does. This is a great gift for them. Especially with all the things it comes with! It’s $299.95 but it’s usual price is over $400! It’s a great steal. So if you are an avid hunter and really want to nail those longshots, this might be the best deal for you. Also, if you’re looking for a high-quality, rugged binoculars, Nikon has, for a limited time only, a promotion to take $20 off on Nikon Action Extreme ATB 10×50 Binoculars! I especially love this deal because I often go hiking and when I am with friends they always point out really cool birds and I can never seen them because I don’t ever have binoculars! I’d rather go for the best deal too and the highest quality. It’s great for bird watching, whale watching, hunting or other activities you need to see far for. So don’t wait though, this is a limited time promotion offer.

The Party Goes On

So lately I’ve been having this really big funk. My apartment is a mess, I want to crochet, knit and sew and I really really want to work on my website. But motiviation = nonexistent. I don’t know why. I’m just in a slump and it’s not all that bad, but really, it’s hard to focus and get things done when there is no motivation. I wish I had some motivation beads or mojo or something.

So this weekend was actually exciting. I got to hang out with my sorority sisters and get to know some of them better. I also realized that I absolutely hate the cold weather. I am not looking forward to snow.at.all.

So, here is my beginning of the week goal list! :)

  1. Finish and send off Application for sorority position and graduate assistantship. I really really want to hurry and get this stuff off my plate. ’nuff said
  2. Clean the house. It’s a mess. really a mess. I did a spot cleaning and found like things I thought I lost 2 months ago.
  3. Finish/Start/Attempt to make a scarf for my little sister for her birthday. yaaa… still working on that..
  4. Start a pattern for a bag I want to make. I found this cute pattern on Craftbits.com that I really want to make for someone..

I see that I must start small..hmmm… Wish me luck!
