The last two weeks have been crazy! I’m basically working 40 hours a week (really more than that). I literally get home, stay up for about 2-3 hours then go to bed. I think the earliest I’ve gone to bed is 9:30! That’s early for me! But it’s worth it, given what I am doing (camp coordinator for a girl’s camp – check out the article they wrote about us! I’m in it). It’s been great to be busy and have the weeks go by fast because I am so ready to start school again. The closer it gets the closer I am to being able to teach!

Lately, my mind has been in spacey-space land. I have forgotten things, spaced out in front of people and totally freaked out about something so random. I think that the stress of work is bearing down on me. Luckily my youngest sister goes back home this weekend so that will be one less stress. I really enjoyed my time with her though; we’ve definitely grown close again.

As of late, I’ve been thinking about the sad state of affairs regarding my friends, both online and off. I am very concerned that my lack of motivation to keep communications open will result in my being friendless. I’ve also been thinking about how I “long” (because is it really longing?) for a guy friend. As odd and possible assinine as that sounds, I’ve found that my closest friends have been males. And all those male friends have been lost in some way or another. One passed away and the other just started to be a jerk. So I wonder, if I am not meant to have close guy friends or any friends at all. It’s a depressing thought but it’s something that I have been pondering. It makes sense when I think about it but now writing about it, I feel even more confused as ever.

Well one last thing, a little rant if you will. [rant]I am getting really tired of reading the comments in news sites or blogs that are so ridiculous it makes me really doubt the state of the human condition. ARGH! [/rant]

The last few weeks have been o.k. Mostly just ok because I haven’t had the energy to do anything that I am suppose to be doing. I have three classes that I know I’m lagging behind in, I have so much stuff to do for work plus I have my other extracurriculuar activities so it’s just been a great mess at my house. But yesterday my sisters and I did start our little garden project. I don’t have pictures yet but I will (they are on my desktop at home). I think I’ve posted all my wedding pictures and whatnot but I am not sure so I will when I can. See ! I’m falling so far behind on everything! To top it off, Marcus and I have made a decision that is also taking up a lot of my mental space. So It’s just been a rough last few weeks. When will it end?! Argh!

Anyways, my sisters are also coming to stay with me over the summer. It should be interesting and I might go a bit crazy. But it’s okay, because one of them has a car here and I can just send her on random errands or something =D Ha no but I am looking forward to it. It will definitely make Marcus’ and my house a bit less quiet. Which can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it. I’ll let you know in a month.

Because of my sickness last week, I have not been eating very well as I should, though I have tried to at least incorporate more veggies and fruits in my diet. According to my scale though, I’ve lost some weight so I am hoping that starting this weekend I can at least become more active so that I don’t gain any weight until I can get my eating back on track. Ah, the life of a chick trying to lose weight. It’s an everlasting struggle it is! But it’s so frustrating!

Question of the Day: What’s your absolute worst bad habit? Mine – > I crack my knuckles and it’s actually made my knuckles larger so let’s just say that I have an interesting time with rings…

Other than that, today was pretty cool. I got to go to a high school (it’s an arts academy) and watch in on an AP Environmental Science class. It was pretty neat and boy, I forget what it’s like to be in a classroom with high schoolers. But it was a fun experience and got me excited (and nervous) about teaching. One of my classes requires that I go in and do “assessments” given to the students. It was pretty funny, because they looked at me like “why are you making me do stuff…” Oh high school. But it did make me realize I really want to teach! (still lol)

Speaking of classes, I never really mention my classes, so I figured I would this time around. I’m doing a graduate program called the MEd with Certification: Science Education. It’s an online program which makes it awesome and it’s also taught by great teachers. My school apparently has one of the best teaching programs in Arizona. So what I am taking now is Secondary Science Techniques, English Immersion and Evaluation of Learning. All really neat classes, but I feel there is so much information that I don’t think I could keep it all straight! Regardless, it’s a great program and I am loving it.

Money’s tight. again. I’m one of those people who realizes what one must do to save money and how to do it, but fails to actually implement it. That’s why we are broke. We spent money where we shouldn’t have and it really blows to see how much money we could have had saved but we just decided to blow it. ARGH. But can’t undo the past and can only improve the future.

So, so far so good on the graduate school front. I’m already late on one assignment. yeh, bad me. I know. D=

I’ve been frantic over my wedding plans. If you’re on lavish you might know the brunt of it but otherwise, I’ll painfully go through everything again (dramatic sigh)

Last year, Marcus and I planned on having a reception, where we paid for everything. In September, my parents agreed to shell out the whole reception. Which was great, only $1,500. All we had to do was cover our ceremony and other incidentals. Gotcha. Great. Okay, so this year began and a whole host of problems occurred. First, my parents couldn’t help us anymore. Oops. Next, Marcus quit his job (it really was the best and either way he might have not had a job anymore). Uh Oh. So, imagine my horror and shock when I had to figure out how to come up with $1,500 in two months! D=

Solution? What solution was there? I had to do what I didn’t want to: Ask my guests to pay their way. I didn’t want to do, and I still don’t like doing it but there is honestly no other way if I want to have a reception and not make my guests feel that they only made it out to Las Vegas for a ceremony that will be probably 15 minutes long. If this were somewhere, like in my hometown, where I have connections and could get people to help cook or have a BBQ or whatever, I would, but this is in Las Vegas, being in the works for over a year. Invitations went out, people have already booked flights and hotels. I can’t change the destination. So alas, I am asking my guests to pay their way in lieu of gifts. I feel this is at least fair. I am also planning on paying for my attendants because, well, they are my attendants.

Before anyone says it I KNOW this isn’t etiquette. I’ve fought with my mom, Marcus and others on this. But I have to do it, even though I really don’t want to do it this way.

I’ve gotten feedback and a lot of tears later, this is the best thing that can happen. I am still suppling wedding favors, a wedding cake and bottles of champagne. But we’ll see, maybe that many people won’t come and I might be able to pay for them anyway. We’ll see.

Ah, Life. I hate you!

1. Boston was AMAZING. I have a lot of pictures but I will explain what happened to them next. But it was a great trip and an awesome meeting. I had “Clam Chowda” and got to visit the aquarium and several historical places. It was so cool, I can’t even say how cool it was!

2. So, my laptop finally went to the laptop heaven in the sky. Of course, this had to be after I downloaded all my pictures to it. yay. *not* So I had to buy a new one and it rocks. It’s a Toshiba and is everything I could ask for in a laptop. But on the ways of technology, I left my camera at my parent’s house and it has truly made me go insane.

3. Marcus informed my on my way back home (Train was great fun btw) that he had quit his job. I’m not panicked this time around because we had money saved to last us at least two months. He is taking his time finding a job but hopefully he will find one soon and it will hopefully be just as good as his last (money wise).

4. My little sister got accepted into college! yay!

5. I finally found *THE* dress!

6. I’m utterly and bitterly exhausted.

Once I get all my pictures I will upload them to flickr. Also, I might post a private post soon, just some thoughts to vent, or I might head to my favorite place in the world to do it. I really had hoped this blog would be longer but I honestly am so exhausted!

This is sooo true! Honestly, I think it goes down deeper. If my purpose on earth was to make Marcus happy and feel overwhelmingly loved, then so be it. I won’t take for granted me because someone or something needs me! And from a biologist standpoint…this hits home too! Even little creepy bugs have a purpose or they wouldn’t be here! Lovely! Then again, there are some body organs that don’t serve a really big purpose but will kill you if they dysfunction…that’s…cruel..someone had fun doing that. lol

But anyways, I’ve been working on my crocheting. For some reason, I am not as confident about it as I was when I started. I’ve been starting a chain and then adding a second row, and the first two rows will look like crap. I don’t know if it’s my tension or what, but it’s frustrating! Any pointers? I’ll try to post pictures to show ya’ll what I mean. It’s … arrgh! And then knitting…well I got the hang out of it, and the theory I got down, but it’s actually doing…it looks so sloppy! So I keep having to restart over and over again. But it’s okay I guess, as I am still learning and afterall, youtube was my instructor! Speaking of which, has anyone used expertvillage.com? I went there because someone suggested I look at bellydancing videos and I looked around and it looked pretty nifty. Like a specific helping video collection without all the weird ones thrown in the mix. idn. Check it out! (don’t worry not a sponsored link hehe)

Well this weekend oughta be fun. I’m going to a retreat and should have fun getting out of the house and taking a break from “home”. I love Marcus dearly but sometimes I need to get away! But I will miss my dogs haha that’s sad! But they are my babies …..

I got this adorable picture from Acobox.com. They specialize in blog pictures. I really enjoy adding photos to my blog because it really gives it more meat. It also adds to whatever I am blogging about and definitely brightens up the page too. With Acobox, you can just pick the picture you want to add to your post and insert the code into the post itself. It’s really easy for ya’ll who don’t know much about code (like me) or if you simply find a great picture you want to post. It’s kinda of like a community gallery where everyone submits photos for community use. Of course I wouldn’t post your sexy nightie photos that you don’t want shared across the world, but it’s almost like a photoblog-ish community where your images can be used and you can use others’ images. I like it especially if I need to just find a generic photo of something like the adorable piggies up there. And it’s great because the photos on the site are very artsy and cute so that can probably used for other things as well. There are other sites out there like this, but Acobox is definitely another tool for bloggers and webdesigners to use, and hey it doesn’t hurt to know your options. Especially because with Acobox, they do the nitty gritty for you like sizing, copyrighting, optimizing and hosting. This site is definitely tailored to the blogger world. Check it out!! I attempted to sit down and crochet all night last night but I kept starting wrong, so I stopped cause I got frustrated! But I am coming along quite nicely with my new necklace project. It’s going to be green. Less variation in beds but it’s looking really pretty. I was looking at some websites and making earrings are not all that bad. So we’ll see. I’ll definitely need plenty of hobbies to keep me busy on my long ass train trip in January. I’m not complaing though, since it will force me to actually keep up with doing stuff.

I’ve been thinking about how the holidays are coming up and wow I’m just so excited. I told Marcus that if we both can do at least $200 on ChaCha before pay-out we can have money for black friday and buy each other gifts lol. I finally got paid by tutor.com and now I know it’s not a scam But really, if anyone is out there who can tutor in math, they are really really needing some people. There are incentives to I believe. There’s definitely one for me so if you decide to sign up tell them I sent ya!
