After reading this post, we are alike in a lot of ways. I hide behind and from a lot of things as well, especially making new friends. I also have advice to give to everyone, and it's usually good advice as well, but I don't ever take my own advice. I think it's easier to help others than to look deep inside yourself and try to fix what is going on there because helping others doesn't involve any self reflection.

I also understand the advice. It's so much easier to see what can be done when you're not directly part of the issue.

The advice thing - I completely understand that. When you're looking at someone else's situation, you're free from the emotions that can cloud your vision. When it's your OWN problems, well, there's all this extra stuff - fear of success and change, fear of people's opinions, anxiety over how you'll find time for everything, etc. etc.

Interesting article. I'm really interested in learning more about making my own cleaning products, that sounds like it could really come in handy!

You've had a bad start, what with Caden in hospital and the breastfeeding issues - it's no wonder you're feeling pretty shit at the minute. The beginning 6 weeks are the toughest if you ask me (you didn't, but there we go, hehe) but it does get easier.

Just remember you've got a LOOOONG time to be bonding with Caden :)

Just browsed in from twitter :)

I don't know you & I don't think you're a bad mother or a failure. I think you were FAILED though, by the LC. She should have provided you the support to be able to feed your son without having to rely on bottles (which as you've seen, at such a young age can have terrible affects on the breastfeeding relationship). She should have helped you cup or syringe feed.

I don't know how it is over there during pregnancy (I assume you're in the States?) but over here you get a LOT of pressure to breastfeed - which is OK, we need people to breastfeed - but absolutely bugger all support to back it up once baby is here and it really infuriates me that mums are supposed to just suck it up and get on with it.

I have a lot of respect for your determination to pump (I can never get anything out with the bloody things) and wish you the best of luck :)

I don't have kids nor do I want any, but I wouldn't beat yourself up over not "feeling" it. It just takes some people longer than others to develop relationships. You doubt you loved your partner after 4 weeks so why would you love a child so quickly (a bump is different to a baby imo)? I think there is too much pressure for mothers to feel a certain way

PS: I am not a huge fan of emotions :/
